About Me
I’m Mark, a data scientist based in Spokane, WA.
I did my PhD in physics at the University of Oregon, spent a few years as a postdoc at Oregon and Duke working on quantum computing hardware, then made the jump to industry.
Since then I’ve been building ML systems for patent analytics and financial data: deep learning architectures, entity resolution pipelines, human-in-the-loop clustering, LLM-powered text processing at scale. My main tools are Python, PyTorch, and SQL, though the full list is long.
Outside of work I like to tinker with projects at the intersection of math, data, and whatever I’m currently curious about — which is mostly what you’ll find on this blog. I’m currently open to new opportunities — feel free to reach out on LinkedIn.
